New Year, New Possibilities....Bring it on 2014!
Posted on December 30 2013
As I sit in my living room this morning on New Years Eve, sipping on my morning coffee (something I can't live without), I look back at this past year. 2013 was a year of tremendous change. For some that might sound scary, but for me its been the best year of my life. Mercury Home opened its doors for the 1st time in March and has continued to expand and grow since then. Mercury Home started as a dream of mine and my mother partnered with me to help make it happen. (Yeah, I've got the best mom in the world!). We opened our doors in a multi-vendor retail store with over 60 other vendors and managed to make a dent in the market and make a name for ourselves (or so I'd like to think). Now, we've got a brand spanking new website to showcase some of our regular items that can be purchased online. I could not be more proud of all of the hard work that went into starting the store this year. I also couldn't have done it without my mother, husband, step-father, father-in-law and my supportive friends who always have kind words of encouragement.
In addition to opening up my first business, I also had my first child in June. Mason Russell Chigges was born on June 28th, 2013 weighing a healthy 7 lbs and 21 inches. Mason has been the light of our lives and we could not ask for a better baby (ok, I know everyone says that but seriously he is the best baby!).
So, as I look back on all the wonderful yet challenging things that have happened this year I am energized at the possibilities for next year. A new year always bring a fresh start, new goals and aspirations. Its a chance for all of us to start on a clean slate and make changes in our lives. There's always the cliche dieting resolutions, but for me, this next year is more about working hard, spending time with family, and trying to enjoy every moment. Whatever your resolutions are for the next year, I hope the new year brings you happiness, fun and success!
"See" you next year!
